Big day for the Eastland High School Wind Symphony!
Today our recordings in the TMEA Honor Band Contest and ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series were judged along side other great bands from across the state. The results were really impressive. Eastland finished 3rd place in the Honorband Competition and 2nd place in the OPS Concert Category This was the first time Eastland High School made the state honor band list. Last year, Eastland Middle School made the state honor band list for their first time under the direction of Jett Lowrance. In OPS, the recording of Vesuvius finished in 2nd place. Both 1st and 2nd place are feature winners so that means that Eastland High School will be featured with the other winning bands for a second year in a row. In the past the winners have gone on a CD but this year they will be distributed digitally. This is a really fantastic result. These kids have been working so hard and have earned this recognition. Great work Eastland!
